Rosemallow Farms

We are Tim & Ivoriann Wooley and Rosemallow Farms grew out of our love for nature, and old Florida. Our 7 acre property in Grant-Valkaria is the perfect place for a plant nursery and tree farm. The original 3 acre property was owned by Tim’s grandparents and was developed in the 1990’s.

The Scarlet Rosemallow (Hibiscus coccineus) is a Florida native hibiscus and the inspiration for our farm name and logo. Our very first plants were Scarlet Rosemallows propagated from plants that were grown by Tim’s late Uncle and Grandfather on the property in Grant-Valkaria.

We have added 4 more acres to the property since we purchased it in 2013. Growing plants that we enjoy and are beneficial to native wildlife allows us to further our skills and connect with nature in our own back yard.

Our Mission

Our mission is to share our enjoyment of nature with other people, and to help our community in any way we can. That includes providing learning opportunities about native plants, state-friendly plants, growing food, and other hard skills.

About Us

Tim is a 7th generation Florida native and grew up in Valkaria since the age of 13. His parents and grandparents purchased adjoining properties and built homes there in the 90’s to escape the increasing development of the Melbourne area. The house and property where Rosemallow Farms is located was built by his grandfather, Ed Clark. Ed built a sawmill, from scratch, and proceeded to build a house from southern pine trees cut from the property and donated from the surrounding area by neighbors. As a teenager Tim helped him saw logs into lumber and work on building the house.

Tim’s family has been pioneering the east coast of Florida since the 1820’s in Duval County, then Green Cove Springs, Lake Monroe (Sanford), and later, Brevard County.

Ivoriann’s parents and grandparents, the Williams family, ran cattle, dairy, and vegetable farms starting in the 1920’s in West Palm, Ft. Pierce, and Palm Bay.

Some may remember the William’s family “Wilbro U-Pick” Farm off of Garvey Road in Palm Bay, where many families and school kids on field-trips enjoyed the former dairy farm, turned U-pick. In fact, Ivoriann’s 1st grade class field trip was to her family’s own farm.

Florida and agriculture is in our roots.

Tim’s grandfather, Ed Clark, wrote a book titled
Florida Crackerlections: 56 stories of old Florida, a book full of stories from his grandparents and his own years in Florida before “superhighways, chain stores, and concrete block houses”. His book can be found in our online store, and on amazon.com.

Visit our shop to find our plants, trees, apparel, original artwork, books, and occasionally you may even find some old Florida antiques for sale!
